You hate to add to the growing piles of toys and clothes that are clogging the landfills. But having a baby means you need stuff.
Trade in outgrown items – and stock up on new ones – at Still Hip, a resale shop in Clinton Hill. The store accepts gently used children's (birth to size 10) and maternity clothing and gear in return for store credit. Use those points to get goodies from brands like Zutano, Petit Bateau, Japanese Weekend and Pumpkin Maternity, as well as accessories like baby slings and puzzles.
Be sure to check out what's going on in the shop's play area. Classes by the likes of Private Picassos and Let's Dance Brooklyn are a weekly thing, in addition to occasional events on everything from nutrition to knitting. And they're even known to run a sale or two (hint: 50-percent off, right about now).
And please, don't say "used." It's "gently loved."
Open Tues.-Sat. 10am-6pm, Sun. 11am-6pm. 293 Grand Ave., Brooklyn, 718-398-0008, stillhipbrooklyn.com.
