Feeling Fresh
A healthy home-cooked meal is ideal, but you're admittedly not much of a chef. What if someone else did all the dicing and slicing, while you take credit for the delish dish?
Get Fresh is Park Slope's new meal preparation service that delivers to neighboring Brooklyn 'hoods (or you can pop into the store). They do the meal planning, shopping and prep work; you do the cooking. The ready-to-cook farm-fresh meals – yummy entrees like roasted pork or wild rice pilaf – are made of local and organic ingredients (sourced from nearby farms and pesticide free), and are available in portions for singles or families. Kid-friendly fare includes chicken pot pie, grass-fed beef stew, sesame peanut noodles and spinach lasagna. And of course, it's all green: The packaging is eco-friendly, bags biodegradable and the store sustainable.
And all this time you said you couldn't cook.
Open Mon.-Fri. 11am-9pm, Sat. & Sun. 11am-6pm. 370 Fifth Ave., Brooklyn, 718-360-8469, getfreshnyc.com.
