Alphabet City
How much do we love Queens-based artist Deborah Grumet? Let us count the ways.
One: We adore her ABCs of Art poster, where each letter of the alphabet is drawn in the style of an artist whose name begins with it ("P" for Picasso, "W" for Warhol).
Two: We're even more infatuated with her ABCs of NYC poster, which alphabetizes big names in the Big Apple ("C" for Coney Island and "M"
for Mets). Sadly, this one's no longer in print thanks to licensing logistics.
Three: We also dig her pop-art ABCs of Onomatopoeia poster, with its alphabet of crazy kid sounds ("A" for AIEEEE! and "B" for Bam!).
Four: We're psyched about her latest poster's foray into the world of numbers, with each digit corresponding to the number of eyes a monster has.
A wall hanging that can educate, entertain and decorate in a modern/edgy way? Now you know your NYCs.
